The lack of coaches for local teams is an old saying. As the master is in place, big-name coaches flock to the temple.안전놀이터
Lotte Giants appointed former SSG Landers head coach Cho Won-woo as their head coach to assist manager Kim Tae-hyung on the 5th.
When he was a player, he played for the Ssangbangwool-SK Wyverns. His hometown is SSG Landers. However, he started playing baseball at Suyeong Elementary School and went through Choryang Middle School and Busan High School.
He is a veteran who was recognized as one of the best in outfield defense when he was active. After retirement, he played defense coach for the Hanwha Eagles, Lotte Giants, and Doosan Bears, and returned to the SK Wyverns in 2014.
It was during this period that he became involved with Lotte manager Kim Tae-hyung. Before taking office, Kim Tae-hyung was close to Doosan One Club man as a player and coaching staff, but he worked as a battery coach for SK from 2012 to 2014.
Above all, it is notable that the former head coach who led Lotte from 2016 to 2018 will return. It is not an easy decision.
It was possible because of the strong love call from the head coach. Cho Won-woo, the head coach, initially had a contract until 2025. Therefore, he rejected the first request to join Lotte immediately after taking office last year.
Only coach Kim Min-jae joined the Lotte Giants after receiving a love call. Coach Kim Min-jae, who suffered from chronic illness all year round, regained some physical condition at the end of the season. He is also accompanying coach Kim Tae-hyung to a defense training camp in Miyazaki, Japan.
This year was different. Cho Won-woo, the head coach of the team, told Sports Chosun, "I never said that I would stay. Things went well for the team." Thanks to this, I joined Lotte again without any pressure.
Provincial teams often complain of chronic lack of coaching. Most families are reluctant to live in rural areas. If the team's performance is not good enough, the possibility that a coach will criticize others alone, and some fans' excessive loyalty and invasion of privacy also contribute to their reluctance to take the helm. This is why more coaches have played in teams or have fostered themselves.
Lotte is different, however. Under the leader who controls the team with strong charisma, masters living with him seem to be flocking to the team one by one.
Kim Yong-hee, a second-tier coach, is a former coach who led the team for five years from 1994 to 1998. His nickname was "Mr. Lotte" when he was active. He was a founding member of the team and a star player of the team with his handsome appearance and star quality, and also the first Lotte player-turned-Lotte coach in the club's history. This year, the 69-year-old veteran is making his last efforts for the hometown team.
Bench coach Kim Kwang-soo is also worthy of being called a managerial mogul. He is literally a living witness of Korean baseball, with coaches Kim In-shik, Kim Kyung-moon and Kim Sung-keun helping Kim Tae-hyung. He is also chairman of the Ilguhoe, a group of baseball legends.

In addition, coach Kim Min-ho and Kim Min-jae, who have experience as head coaches in the first division, and pitcher coach Kim Sang-jin, who recently led SK and Doosan to improve their mound constitution, also joined the team. All of them are veterans born in 1970 and around, and they are "Coach Avengers" who have been united under coach Kim Tae-hyung, who has advanced to the Korean Series for seven consecutive years.
With the new appointment of head coach Cho Won-woo, there is expected to be a transfer of coaching positions soon. The head coach's agony to make good use of the specialized fields between each coach also deepens.
